hooks
at first she yanked them out slowly,
laying them in patterns.
feeling their importance.
now they weren't what mattered anymore.
it was getting thru that cloud that counted.
brushing the hooks off her arms,
scraping them off her body, she gave them
little thought.
throwing them aside,
she gathered her self
and headed for the other side of the mist.
